Poem by Sai Prakash
THE WOODS INVITED

As we travelled through the cloud cladded hilltops
All of a sudden we heard a song
A song from the woods
Inviting us to visit the tall trees
May be to play hide and seek
Each of the invisible circles of their trunks
They started to whisper many stories
The young honeymoon couples
A few lovers too
Children going round and round
Singing nursery rhymes
The morning sunrise unable to penetrate
Through the thick blanket of fog
We walked hand in hand
Infact shoulder to shoulder
Feeling the chill breeze
She whispered into my ears
"Write a poem on our togetherness"
I readily obliged
One more cup of Darjeeling tea
Here it is
A poem on the woods invite
It is upto her to decide
If it is her invite too!
