MONA AL-SARRAF (IRAQ)
"The Chimes of the Clock"
The bed wrapped around the Qiblah of sleep
Teasing a pearl that dozed between its eyelashes
Soldiers of sand crawling with their equipment
Enveloping the repulsive body with the sting of its sheet
The chimes of the wall clock shook the walls..
With an earthquake announcing the cracking of the heart with the hardening of its blood
Arms of waves surround the pillow with a slither..
The dream and the painful escape of the foam from its shore
The cloud of my cigarette when I woke up no longer
Draws those eyes and vanished with its smoke
From behind my window a moon is watching and stars
Soothes the loneliness of the soul with the flow of its lights
Breezes She caresses my soul with her power, flirting
For a tightly closed braid since his departure
Do I curse the ticking of my clock with her invasion
For a love that no longer breathes in my lungs!?
Or did she announce the return to the truth of time!?
