IN SEARCH OF PEARLS
While he was dissecting the body in front of his students, something sparkling right where the heart was caught his attention. As soon as he took it out, he found it to be a pearl that stole the show with its magnificence. Amazement appeared on everyone's faces, after which a strong desire arose in everyone to snatch it and run away, but the professor managed to catch up and put it in his pocket, as if he was reading what was going on in people's minds. The students did not understand anything from the rest of the lecture, as the pearls were blocking all the outlets.
At the end of the lecture, the professor gave a speech to his students, in which he said:
Until now, I am not sure what this thing is. Tests must be conducted on it, and as soon as the results appear, I will inform you of them. Then we will decide on the matter, and until then, I ask you to keep it completely confidential. Now you can leave.
Everyone left, angry at their cunning professor, who took the pearl for himself only. At night the news had spread through the city, taking its final form: Man is full of pearls. And barbaric killings and dissections began to take place everywhere, to the point of digging up graves in search of pearls.
The many patrols that were sent to prevent the crime from happening and getting worse, did not arrest anyone, as their members were also busy searching for pearls, and even the professor and his students who saw the pearl with their own eyes, their hands were stained with blood. Blood stained the killers from the scalp to the soles of the feet. By morning, disappointment was looming on the faces, as some of them found solid black stones, and some found a love letter, and other things that replaced the heart; a pile of ash.. a white flower... a dead swallow and...
