ICE AND SNOW

Shining, sparkling snow and ice,
Fluffy flurries falling from heaven, oh so nice!
Hanging icicles on branches and leaves sparkle bright,
Brown black branches dressed in snow look so soft and white
Sizzling sunrays on rooftops dazzle my eyesight.

Far away the snowcapped mountains and clouds above in the sky,
Glistening water of slippery ice makes me gasp and sigh
Children’s laughter making snowman, whistles past by.
Thick white cold feathers make my lips chapped dry;
Holiday makers with skates and skis rush swiftly to mountains high.

Tread on the soft velvety white snow very quiet,
Footsteps slow on the black ice, guess I have to be right,
Lest I fall and injure my waist or spine!!
Trying not to get icy cold wind frostbites,
Hold on to my woolen clothes very tight.

Sipping hot coffee in front of the fireplace in a shawl,
Night is early, yet not dimming the world at all.
Glimmering moonlight on white jewels fall,
Brightening mother earth with such a pretty sight!!!
I sing and dance to celebrate in delight.

As the cold winter bids farewell and melts away the snow,
Beautiful delicate pink cherry blossoms grow,
Pink petals floating down carpeting the ground below
Time to clean the garden and start to mow,
Daisies, daffodils, tulips and lilies, cherries, grapes and tangerines to sow
Bask in the scent of spring and colours, to bloom and glow.

Deep inside, I yearn for more downy flakes.
Dazzling dancing white angels from heaven,
I long for the magical white fairyland once again.
Alluring beauty of ice and snow cleanses my soul and sense.
Oh, white fairy, please keep falling for wishful romance!

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION

A year has ended, a new year begun
A new beginning for another new end;

New Year and new resolutions,
Time for betterment of life’s evolution;
Time to stop procrastination and unfold our determination,
Time to get up and put our work in execution;

Time to leave grudges behind, blindfolded,
Time to get our life, artfully molded;
Time to spread love and share each other’s strength;
Nothing can stand against strong tidal waves.

Time to act fast and make happiness last,
Time present, will soon be past;
Time to be the master of our own art,
Time to let life sail its mast with full blast;

Time to forget the miseries, pain and contempt;
Time to love and let everyone live in merriment.
Time to make the necessary paradigm shift,
Positivity brings wonderfully blissful gifts.

Time to share good times to enrich our souls,
Happiness and success will come knocking at our doors.

SHATTERED MIRROR

Shattered mirror on the ground, sparkling sunlight;
Glistening tears sparkling bright.

All shudder and protect their feet,
Lest it cuts and starts to bleed;
Broken glass in thousand pieces,
Pricks inside and cuts each vein;
Bleeds but no one sees the pain.

I smile every day, a perfect smile,
You say, ‘You are happy, you own a style’
Have you seen the pain of my bleeding heart?
Smiling every day is a beautiful art.

Each day of my life is a piece, I start.
This world is a stage, we embark.
Here in plots, we play our parts,
I do my best to smile and dance,
Perfect in my role, I am a star.

Shattered mirror of my heart,
No one sees how I bleed and play my part.
