Wandering Him
Cheonjeon-ri Petroglyphs

The ox of time
grazes on the chest of myth
then enters the mouth of mist.

Nainai nanshiru naine nairu

At the time-crossroads,
above yesterday, today, and tomorrow

an ox turned to stone
chews on the memory
of once-upon-a-time.

From the stone lips, a sacred message.

Even time, when distant, becomes a veiled enchantment.

At times, the past stirs the heart more than the future.

With pictorial hands I touch the skin of prehistory,
and dive into the feast of symbols.
Kirnar, Sugar, Herhyo, Sumarta Nainai nanshiru naine nairu

The face, a mask once gifted by gods.
A man's mask-like face,
eyes encrypted like a code.

Beyond time that cannot be counted,
he stares at me,
lays down a road with his gaze
and I begin to wander him.
Sugar, Narme, Bukar, Khrkani Nainai nanshiru naine nairu

The past and the present, brothers alike.

The hunt for survival,
the coupling that transcends the sacred and profane,
the trembling of anxious pairs in prayer
,
Is it intoxication, or immersion?
Nine, Nane, Nanshiru, Naine, Nairu

In the undying eternal,
the ground of unanswered questions.

Like thoughts passing through the body,
like gestures visiting and leaving this place

Nainai nanshiru naine nairu Nainai nanshiru naine nairu
