RATAN BHATTACHARJEE - INDIA
International Tagore Award winner 2024 Dr Ratan Bhattacharjee who is formerly Affiliate Faculty Virginia Commonwealth University and President Kolkata Indian American Society is a leading multilingual columnist cum writer with more than twenty books on British and American Literature to his credit. His poetic debut occurred with The Ballad of the Bleeding Bubbles and later for his publication of Oleamder Blooms he is called Oleander poet of India .
His poems published and translated and regular columns on Female Celebrity won accolade internationally. He won many awards and recently he is the winner of Banga Shrestha Samman as a Poet and academician . His short story collection Six Feet Distance published from Bloomington USA and his books on children literature are widely read. As a Researcher of American literature his books on F Scott Fitzgerald and Theodore Dreiser got appreciation from abroad . During his position as former Head Post Graduate Dept of English Dum Motijheel College he translated a good number of Foreign poets and his own book is translated into Assamese as Raktakta Buburanir Malita . He chaired many national and international conferences while he was invited as Visiting Professor to many universities in the USA.
