Raseem Ibrahim (poem)

Raseem Ibrahim (poem)
Raseem Ibrahim (Iraq)

THIS IS YOU SPINNING

And I spin in the unknown
I will negotiate with you
Because you are tired like me
And our fall is an occasion to rise
And before I say
I extend my palm to you
To hear what you have to say
My eyes first
So that I can stay standing
Teach me how the nightingales sing in the fields
Teach me the children's dance
When you spin
Teach me how to hide words
In speech
Teach me how to love you
When I forget
Teach me how to depart
To your new face
Let's fill the morning with singing
At the gardens of hope
And let's go far.....far
Let's smile
Let's take off the clothes of darkness
For eyes to meet eyes
Because I am here a child
Still
Repeating the song of
Peace.
