TEA, BOOKS AND SOLITUDE
(Musings of a Woman)

How much sweeter is silence
A teacup, a book, a wooden table
No voices urging, no steps to follow
Just warmth cradled
in my palms-serene and stable

How peaceful it is to sit alone
No rushing feet, no ringing phone
Steam drifts softly, pages turn
No need to speak, no need to yearn

A world of stillness, calm and deep
With books to hold and tea to steep
Let noise fade to distant grey
In tranquil solitude, I choose to stay
