Danijela Ćuk - Biography

PERSONAL DATA AND ORIGINS
Danijela Ćuk was born on May 25, 1989, in Vukovar. Today, she lives and works in Čavle, near Rijeka. Her upbringing and life journey have shaped a strong sensitivity toward themes of peace, empathy, and human solidarity, which form the cornerstone of her entire creative work and public engagement.
CULTURAL AND SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
She is the founder and head administrator of the international literary community and group "Snaga poezije" (The Power of Poetry), through which she brings together authors, poets, and art lovers from across the region and around the world. Through this platform, she actively promotes literary exchange, bridges diverse cultures, and supports both emerging and established writers.
She serves as Honorary President for Croatia within the World Peace & Literature Organization (WPLO). As part of her activities as a peace ambassador, she has initiated and organized numerous projects, notably including the Online World Peace Festival, dedicated to promoting anti-war messages and spreading inner and global tranquility through verse.
LITERARY WORK AND THEMATIC SCOPE
Danijela Ćuk’s work is characterized by deep emotionality, introspection, and a commitment to universal human values. Her poems have been translated into multiple languages (including English, Hungarian, Russian, and Romanian), achieving wide international reach.
Among her most prominent works are:
"DOSTA JE..." (ENOUGH...) – A powerful anti-war poem and a call for world peace.
"PRONAĐI SMISAO ŽIVOTA" (Find the Meaning of Life) – A work dedicated to personal worth, inner strength, and self-respect.
"JEDNOSTAVNO, BUDI SVOJA" (Simply Be Yourself) – A poem emphasizing authenticity, honesty, and goodness.
"MOJ SAN" (My Dream) and "NE ODUSTAJEM" (I Don't Give Up) – Verses imbued with themes of perseverance, hope, and endurance despite life's challenges.
HONORS AND CONTRIBUTIONS
For her dedicated work in literature, the protection of human values, and peace activism, she has received numerous international recognitions and certificates, including the prestigious international Cóndor Mendocino award from Argentina. Her work is recognized for unifying art and humanitarian action, as well as her continuous dedication to building a better, more peaceful society.

Some anthologies in which the author participated are not in her personal possession.
The author has been awarded 1st place three times in contests organized by Pisci i književnost for her poetry and reflective writing.
She has been named a World Peace Ambassador and is the recipient of numerous international diplomas and awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Good Samaritan Academy.
Furthermore, she has been appointed Honorary President of WPLO Bangladesh and serves on the Advisory Board of WLRO.
She is also a member of HKD Rijeka (Croatian Cultural Society of Rijeka) and regularly participates in the "Rijeka Literary Mornings" (Riječka književna jutra).
Many of her poems have been published in international magazines and literary portals across Italy, Iraq, Bangladesh, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Montenegro, Serbia, Greece, Tajikistan, India, and more.
HUMANITARIAN ENGAGEMENT
In addition to writing, Danijela is actively involved in volunteer work. She has volunteered with organizations including: DIRA (Association for Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities), DIP (Association for Persons with Disabilities), Dom Kantrida (Nursing Home for the Elderly and Infirm), and HKD Rijeka.
Together with supporters and community members, Danijela has organized various charitable initiatives, such as collecting gift packages for children at the Ivana B. Mažuranić Children's Home (Tić) and for families in need. She also organized aid relief drives for flood-affected areas in Petrinja and Sisak.
She is an associate member of the association Nada Rijeka (for women operated for breast cancer) and frequently writes poems dedicated to patients and their families.
All proceeds from the sale of her poetry books have been donated to charity (benefiting Nada, DIP, and DIRA), with several copies donated directly.
Additionally, she has organized poetry mornings at the Ruže Sv. Franje care center in Rijeka. As an advocate for disability rights, for the past two years, in collaboration with MS Team Zagreb, she has co-organized the annual MS WALK support event in Rijeka as a sign of solidarity for all individuals with disabilities.
