THE BEAUTY OF A SMILE
Smile, my dear,
for a smile looks lovely on you,
let it paint each day with colors bright and new.
Let its gentle radiance softly flow,
for it leaves a mark that time cannot undo.
When your lips unfold into a smile,
the soul behind it shines all the while.
And that is something no one can buy,
what makes you a woman special in every eye.
It costs nothing, yet it means the most,
when you smile at someone, or stand close.
When you reach out your hand and say, “I’m here,”
no treasure in this world could ever come near.
Even the deepest wounds of the heart,
and the darkest mornings when they start,
may feel a little lighter, a little less blue,
when someone has a gentle smile and stays with you.
So never let your smile be used to hurt,
or make another heart bleed in the dirt.
Let it be honest, let love shine through,
let it be shaped by the tender, pure soul in you.
