AMITY - DIGNITY
Poetry may not give bread and butter
But it confers a delight, to feel better;
It acts like a silent communicator,
Penetrate the inner vision of the reader.
Poetry promotes peace, devoid of region
As well neutralize many a sort of tension,
It aspires every human to live with ‘dignity’,
It stirs many hearts to bloom with ‘amity’.
Eye-opener, a motivator of humanity,
A poet can sow weeds of generosity,
Reaping the ripe fruits of universality,
A poet can remove hatred and enmity.
Lacing words that open mind’s gateway
Inspiring verses that take new pathways;
Imparting the infinite potential of words,
Poetry unfolds visible and invisible worlds.
May the pen of every poet echo with peace
May the poetry of every poet bestow solace;
Inspiring the thoughts with writings fearless,
Let poetry become a ray of hope in darkness.
IT’S NONE ELSE THAN A MOTHER
Yes! Times, good and bad
Moments fleeting and slow,
Move on, and, ultimately fade,
Yet, memories of life glow.
They appear, but do not fade,
Love of a mother is such a thing!
Even a bit, whenever I suffer
She feels more pain than I suffer,
She will not rest and feels upset,
Until she does whatever is best;
“It’s none else than a mother”,
Her love is eternal and stronger.
Among top memories, tall atop
In her fondling and caring lap,
My childhood, I still visualize,
Feel indebted for the privilege;
But every day her absence is felt,
Mother, your image always reflect.
ABOUT THE POET
Dr. Ashok Chakravarthy Tholana is a writer, poet and reviewer, hailing from Hyderabad City, Telangana State, INDIA, whose message-oriented poems achieved a rare distinction of getting published in no less than a hundred countries. For his relentlessly poetry contribution on Universal Peace, World Brotherhood, Environment Consciousness, Protection of Nature, Safeguarding Children’s and Human Rights; Dr. Ashok is conferred with several prestigious national and international awards that include Ten Doctorates, numerous laurels, commendations, titles etc. He received applause from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former-President, India, Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, former-Prime Minister, India, Bill Clinton, USA, Queen Elizabeth of Britain, Princess of Wales, President and Prime Minister of France, Prime Minister of Switzerland, Senator Viktor Busa, The Lord President, Italy, United Nationals Organization, UNESCO, UNICEF etc. That apart, his poems have also been translated to over 41 languages as of now.

PROMOTING UNIVERSAL PEACE: For the past TWO decades, Dr. Ashok is making all out efforts through poetry contributions to promote Global Peace, promote the concept of non-violence, support Anti-Nuclear Manifesto, protecting Environment, protecting Children Rights etc.
