NAGEH AHMED (EGYPT)

THE LIGHT CAME

When I saw you
The pulpits of poetry ignited
Under the pearl necklace that embraces you
Between each rosary and the next, a love
The necklace of rosaries connects it with your love
O light, don't let my land go
Protect its roses that shone from you
A freedom that speaks to you alone
Do not depart from me in a moment of love
I passed by news of the imagination of a bridge
Driving me toward you in the passageway leading to you
Sighs of silence overwhelm me
Until I meet you on the shore of the river of loyalty to the covenant
I will not leave this matter
I am on my way to you
Swinging on the sleds of the heart's waves
Toward escaping from you to you
My eyes know the way well
But they see only fate leaving the state of standing
To ride the fastest bus that is on the page of longing
Cold followed by crisp snow
Piles on the tent of my car
And the feathers of a bird fall on a traveling flower
Over a house of monkey-hair tent
And the peacock has begun to soar in the color of engraved luck
On the caravan of meeting the moon
When it swims over the surface of the stagnant water beneath The wave
Without crossing stops when it finds sunlight. It tries
To recite the leaping verse
On moving stations before dawn.
Don't leave me between the letters and the dots.
Don't make me feel guilty.
