LIGHT

Life asks me…
Why has time changed?
I told it, “For no reason,
But in the past…
As soon as the light went out,
The night would close its doors with hope,
And we would drift into deep sleep,
Dreaming of a dawn
That lights up our streets,
Guiding us with a promising gaze.”

Now…
Thoughts ignite their candles until morning,
As we smoke away the years of our lives with insomnia,
Only to wake up with regret at sunset,
Amidst the smoke that has clouded our days,
Crossing barbed wires…
With feet made of paper.
