Global Recognition: Mohan Maharana Appointed as International Director at the World Union of Poets
Jajpur: Mohan Maharana, a distinguished poet and a passionate promoter of Jagannath culture from Jajpur, has achieved yet another remarkable milestone. On August 25, 2025, he has been appointed as “World Poets Union Censor – International Director”, an esteemed managerial position at the 119th level out of 126 levels within the World Union of Poets, Italy.
This prestigious honor was conferred upon him by Knt. Sir Silvano Bortolazzi, the Founder President and World President of the organization, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to literature, poetry, and social work in India.
Maharana’s appointment not only highlights his personal dedication but also strengthens the global network of the World Union of Poets, which now connects nearly 1.5 million poets worldwide.
In addition, the organization proudly welcomes Vegentie Makka Achambit, a renowned journalist from South Africa, who has recently joined as a valued member. The World Union of Poets hopes that her efforts, along with those of all its members, will continue to make this world a better place through the power of words and humanity.
