Kang Byeong Cheol është shkrimtar, poet, përkthyes dhe Filozof korean në Shkencat Politike. Ai ka lindur në Jeju City, në Korenë e Jugut, në vitin 1964 dhe e ka filluar karrierën e tij të shkrimit në vitin 1993. Historia e tij e parë e shkurtër, "Kënga e Shubës," u botua kur ai ishte në moshën njëzet e nëntë vjeç.

Cheol është gjithashtu kryredaktor në gazetën Jeminilbo, në qytetin Jeju, (Koreja e Jugut). Aktualisht, Kang është Zëvendëspresident në Institutin Korean për Paqe dhe Bashkëpunim.

një vajtim lagur me dritë yjëzimesh, derdhet...
Një mace e vetmuar, teksa mban erë,
flatrave të errësirës,
zemrën e saj të humbur, kërkon.
Vajtimi i saj kapërcen erën,
teksa thith gjirin e hënës
mbarë dëshira e botës
në atë zë të vockël manifestohet.
Për një çast, heshtja mbështjell qiellin...
Hija e një nëne rikthehet,
e ndër krahë, një ngrohtësi të brishtë mbledh.
Vetëm atëherë nata gjen frymën e saj.
E megjithatë, diku larg,
përmes tymit të Gazës,
nën hënën e njollosur nga trishtimi,
një tjetër mace po vajton.
Vajtimi i saj plagët e yjeve lëpin, dhe pyet:
“Paqe, kur do të zgjohesh vallë?”

POESIA DI KANG BYEONG-CHEOL (COREA DEL SUD)
Kang Byeong-Cheol è scrittore, poeta, traduttore e Dottore in Filosofia di Scienze e Politica coreano. Nato a Jeju, in Corea del Sud, nel 1964, iniziò la sua carriera di scrittore nel 1993. Il suo primo racconto breve, “Song of Shuba”, è stato pubblicato quando aveva ventinove anni.
Nel 2005, Kang ha pubblicato una raccolta di racconti brevi e da allora ha vinto otto premi letterari, pubblicando oltre otto libri. Ha fatto parte del Comitato Scrittori (WiPC), di PEN International dal 2009 al 2014. Dal 2018 al 2022, è stato Segretario Generale del Jeju Unification Education Center. Prima di ciò, ha ricoperto diverse posizioni di rilievo, tra cui Professore specialmente presso la Jeju International University (2016-2018), Professore di Ricerca presso l’Istituto Nazionale di Difesa della Chungnam National University (2013-2016), Ricercatore Senior presso la Society of Leodo Research (2010-2017) e CEO nel portale di notizie online Jejuin News (2010-2013).
Kang ha lavorato anche come editorialista per il “JeminIlbo”, un importante quotidiano della città di Jeju. Attualmente, ricopre il ruolo di Fondatore e Presidente dell’Associazione Della Letteratura Coreana nel Mondo nonché Vicepresidente del Korean Institute for Peace andCooperation e Vicepresidente di Jeju PEN.
IL PIANTO DEL GATTO NELLA NOTTE PROFONDA
Al culmine della notte profonda,
un pianto intriso di luce stellare si riversa...
Un gatto solitario, annusando,
tra le ali dell’oscurità,
il suo cuore smarrito, cerca.
Il suo pianto il vento scavalca,
succhiando il capezzolo della luna,
tutti i desideri del mondo,
in quella piccola voce trasudano.
Per un attimo, il silenzio avvolge il cielo...
L’ombra di una madre ritorna,
e tra le braccia stringe un fragile calore.
Solo allora la notte ritrova il suo respiro.
Eppure, lontano,
tra i fummi di Gaza,
sotto la luna macchiata di tristezza,
un altro gatto sta piangendo.
Il suo pianto, le ferite delle stelle lecca, chiedendo:
"Pace, quando ti sveglierai?"

Poet Dr. Kang, Byeong-Cheol is a Korean author and poet, born in Jeju City, South Korea, in 1964. He began writing in 1993, publishing his first short story, “Song of Shuba,” at the age of twenty-nine. He released a collection of short stories in 2005 and has since won eight literature awards and published more than twelve books. From 2009 to 2014, he served as a member of The Writers in Prison Committee (WiPC) of PEN International. Additionally, he worked as an editorial writer for JeminIlbo, a newspaper in Jeju City, Korea. He holds a PhD in Political Science and currently serves as the Vice President of The Korean Institute for Peace and Cooperation and vice president of Jeju PEN. Moreover, he holds the position of founding President of the Korean Association of World Literature.
CAT'S CRY IN THE DEEP NIGHT
From the corner of the deep night,
a cry soaked in starlight flows out.
A lone cat, groping through the arms of darkness,
searches for its lost heart.
Its cry rides upon the wind,
suckling the nipple of the moon -
all the world’s longing
seeps into that small voice.
For a moment, silence drapes the sky.
A mother’s shadow returns,
gathers one fragile warmth into her arms.
Only then does the night find its breath.
Yet far away, through Gaza’s smoke,
beneath the moon stained by sorrow,
another cat is crying.
Its cry licks the wounds of the stars and asks -
“Peace, when will you awaken?”

깊은 밤, 고양이 울음소리
깊은 밤의 귀퉁이에서
별빛에 젖은 울음이 흘러나온다.
한 마리 고양이, 어둠의 품을 더듬으며
잃어버린 심장을 찾고 있다.
그 울음은 바람에 실려
달빛의 젖꼭지를 물고 운다 -
세상의 모든 그리움이
그 작은 목소리에 스며든다.
잠시, 정적이 하늘을 덮는다.
엄마의 그림자가 돌아와
작은 체온 하나를 품에 안는다.
밤은 그제야 숨을 고른다.
그러나 먼 가자의 연기로,
얼룩진 달빛 아래
또 한 마리의 고양이가 울고 있다.
그 울음은 별들의 상처를 핥으며 묻는다 -
“평화여, 너는 언제 깨어날 것인가”
