Most people don’t know what this field is. When people think of geology, they think of hard workers working in mines. In fact, it is a vast and extremely interesting science. The field of geology includes such areas as working with maps, studying the internal structure of the earth, studying earthquakes, and searching for mineral deposits. We, geologists, study the earth’s crust. We will study the processes occurring there and their effects. We are not workers in any mines. Depending on our specialization, some of us make a geological map of the earth, and some of us predict the damage that may occur as a result of endogenous impacts. This field is an important area for the economy of the future. I hope that for those of you who do not know us, our brief history of geology will be useful. Do not confuse us with representatives of the mining industry! We, geologists, are researchers of various specialties.
